Candice Swanepoel Discusses Her Fitness And Beauty Regimen

As Maxim’s Hottest Female of 2018, Candice Swanepoel has a lot of pressure on her to look her best at all times. Plus, as a model, it is her duty.

So, when it comes to fitness and beauty, the Victoria’s Secret Angel cuts no corners.

“Squats are the key! It’s definitely squats!” Swanepoel told Vogue UK, via E! News, of how she keeps her body in it tip-top condition.

While some models are pin-thin, Swanepoel has hourglass curves and credits her strict gym routine for with her great figure.

As for her skin, Swanepoel is just as serious.

“Sun protection is really important for me,” Swanepoel explained.”My face really burns and it’s not cute! My facialist gives me a really strong sunscreen, and I wear that every day, whether it’s sunny or not.”

And when it comes to makeup, Swanepoel uses it sparingly — which likely isn’t a problem considering her natural beauty.

Although she has to wear makeup during shoots, Swanepoel is sure to give her skin a break whenever she can.

“When I’m on holiday, I try to take a break from make-up,” Swanepoel said. “If we have a night out, or go and see a band or something, I’ll do some blush and mascara—but I try to keep it really minimal.”

Another thing Swanepoel adds into her beauty regimen is haircare.

Just like her face, Swanepoel’s hair is put through a lot when it comes to her regular photo shoots and campaigns, so to make up for the harm done, she always keeps great products on hand.

“Because I’m in the ocean all the time, I use a lot of different oils and conditioning creams on my hair,” she said. “In Brazil it’s very normal to take products and your brush to the beach, people dye their hair… so I take all of my conditioning treatments to the beach when I’m there.”
