A woman has started a petition in an effort to encourage Beyonce and Jay-Z to take better care of their daughter’s hair.
According to the woman, named Jasmine Toliver, Blue Ivy’s hair isn’t healthy and her parents should do something about it.
“As a woman who understands the importance of hair care. It’s disturbing to watch a child suffering from the lack of hair moisture,” Toliver wrote on the petition. “The parents of Blue Ivy. Sean Carter A.K.A Jay-Z and Beyoncé has failed at numerous attempts of doing Blue Ivy Hair. This matter has escalated to the child developing matted dreads and lint balls. Please let’s get the word out to properly care for Blue Ivy hair.”
According to Us Weekly, the petition has a goal of 2,500 signatures, which is has almost reached.
In addition to signing the petition, some people chose to share their thoughts on the situation, and the majority of people who have weighed in seem to agree with Toliver.
“No child who’s mom spends thousands on her hair (monthly) should live life looking like a sheep!” one person wrote. Another said, “I hate when a mother looks like a million dollars with their hair all done and the child looks like they haven’t seen a comb since they were born.”
There were also a few people who felt that Toliver was out of line in her request.
One particular commenter stated, “Maybe we need to petition for a life for Jasmine Toliver.”
Reality stars KeKe Wyatt and Tamar Braxton also weighed in on the situation.
“Ain’t nothing wrong with being natural. I got natural, but you still got to grease natural and comb natural and wash and condition and then you won’t have the beading,” said Wyatt.
Braxton also called for some product to enhance Blue Ivy’s natural locks.
“It just needs some product. That’s it. No shade,” she explained. “I have a nephew who has really, really curly hair like this. It ain’t that bad.”
